School Programs

Title 1

As a Title I designated elementary school, we receive federal funds aimed at supporting academic achievement for all students, particularly those who are at risk of falling behind. Title I funding is part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, designed to provide schools with additional resources to help ensure that all students, regardless of background or income level, have access to a high-quality education.

These funds allow us to implement programs and strategies that directly enhance learning experiences. At Fannin Elementary, we use Title I funds to:

  1. Hire and retain additional teachers and support staff, enabling smaller class sizes and more individualized attention for students.
  2. Provide supplemental educational programs, including after-school tutoring, reading programs, and interventions, to assist students in reaching grade-level standards.
  3. Purchase learning materials and technology to support differentiated and engaging instruction across subjects.
  4. Engage families and the community through workshops and resources that support learning at home.

Who are our Mighty Mustangs?

This group was created in 2020-2021, by our formal school counselor, Emily Patton. This group is made up of 5th and 6th grade students, that focuses on leadership with our school and community. Service projects include, clothes and sock drives, food drives and Keep Midland Beautiful cleanup.

We also have a group of students who are on our honor guard and take care of our United State Flag and Texas Flag. Our current school counselor, April Madrid, will continue growing our Mighty Mustangs for the 2024-2025 school year. The application process will begin at the end of August.
